‘A coffeehouse located in Daegu, South Korea... a haven for the homesick and cultural point of exchange for those seeking exposure to English culture...’
Looking for that next cool coffee shop hang out where you can chillax, play pool and chat with Koreans and foreigners alike? Yes? Well you should definitely check out Louhol, a quick 10 minute walk from Wolchon subway station this place has character and a great selection of current English magazines and literature. Oh and board games if you’re feeling competitive!
Entering Louhol is like walking into an Andy Warhol painting, with the addition of kids happily chattering English, pizza by the slice, Cuban coffee and American treats.
It is quickly becoming one of my favourite places (and not only for the homemade peanut butter slices made by Lou himself).
The staff are super friendly and the menu is reasonably priced with regular offers and specials on. Louhol run a lot of English classes but you’ll always find the kids hanging around the café area as well as parents, and they’re always excited to see new visitors and have a chat.
It’s a great place to get involved with if you have an interest in teaching English and interacting with Korean students of all ages. They’re constantly running events; past ones include a cookie baking contest, sports day, robot making and band camp.
