[Exhibition] Kusama Yayoi exhibition 'A Dream I Dreamed' will be in Daegu!!

   <Yayoi Kusama, 草間彌生, 1929 ~>

Kusama Yayoi was born in Japan under strict mother and dissipated father. She had a very bleak childhood because of the war in Japan and her family's bankruptcy. She also had sufferd from schizophrenia and it made her see hallucination everyday. This is the reason why she started to draw something on the sketchbook. She said she found a peace of mind through unconscious art works.

"I was not trying to be an artist.
I just wanted to pull white miliary things that endlessly multiplying up the wall 
out to the sketchbook and see what it is." 

Kusama Yayoi could fell so low just as a mental patient but she opened up mind-blowing new art world by her efforts. As a highly productive artist, she creates a large number of works until now.

   <KUSAMA YAYOI : A Dream I Dreamed>

Kusama Yayoi  who is called one of the greatest artist of this century will have an exhibition in Daegu Art Museum from July 16th to November 3rd. With the exception of Japan, Asia countries were not hosts for this exhibition until Daegu became the first to do so :) 

Starting here Daegu, Sanghai, Taiwan and Macau also will hold this exhibition as a part of her grand scale asia show. In this exhibition, 117 major works will be displayed including 30 new piece of works in Daegu Art Museum.
