[Tour] Dalseong-gun Tour

◆ Dalseong Block stream in Mt. Biseul

Natural Monument No.435
It's the largest block stream in the nation, estimated to be formed about ten to hundred thousand years ago. With torr and talus, it becomes a rare site around the globe. This huge granite rocks of Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic Era create a unique landscape. (*block stream: formed by accumulation of pebbles and rocks when flowing down in the valley or mountain slope)

◆ Mt. Biseul Ice Festival

In winter, Mt. Biseul ice festival is held in the recreational forest with various things to see and enjoy, such as ice caves, ice sculptures, ice sled sites, traditional plays. The ice remains until April.

Mt. Biseul Azalea Festival

In late April every year, blooming azaleas turns the highland of 100,000sqm at an elevation of 1,000 meters into a fabulous garden. The azalea festival begins in this season, by holding a religious ritual for the spirit of Mt.Bisuel. There are many things to enjoy and eat, such as azalea Bibimbap, azalea song festival, concert, poetry reading and food court.

 Dalseong Dodong Seowon confucian academy

Gangdang Sadang Bujangwon Treasure No.350
It was established in 1605_the 35th year of King Seonjo), honoring Hanhwondang Kim Goeng-pil, one of the five greatest Confucian scholars in the Joseon Dynasty. There is a 400 hundred year-old ginkgo tree growing in front of the hall. Nakdong river is running down in front and Mt.Daenisan is standing behind, where people can enjoy MTB and paragliding.

 Dalseong Hyeonpung Sukbinggo(stone ice storage)

Treasure No.673
It was established in 1730(the 6th year of King Yeongjo) and has been well preserved. Back then despite a mere small country, Hyeonpung had Seokbinggo, which is order that those in Gyeongju, Andong and Changnyeong.

 Mabijeong mural village
Views of a rural village in 1960s ~ 70s are realistically expressed on the walls of a village that is a mere 20-minute distance by car from the Daegu arboretum but still remote because just a few buses run daily.
Visitors may enjoy wondergul wall paintings with the beauties of nature; 'Yeonrimok' and 'Yeonriji'(two trees interconnected by trunk and branch, the only in Korea), the oldest lacquer tree in Korea, and bamboo and chionanthus retusus tree tunnels.
Come, see, feel and taste the live in a farming village. With prior reservation, visitors may try on a variety of traditional things (rice cake, tofu, traditional enzyme tea, elected poles, scent bags, nature soap, bamboo wind chimes, traditional utensils), crops harvest, folklore experience (fee of charge), and home stay (Fees from 3,000Won).
