[Cafe/Press Article] Blue Oven Cafe

With Paris Baguettes and Tous Le Jours sprinkled every few blocks in Daegu. homemade treats are a rare find. One of the best brownies I’ve had has been in Blue Oven. Located in Daemyeongdong, off Apsan Cafe Street, Blue Oven is a sweet treasure to find. The robin’s egg blue exterior is easy to spot, and the interior is a perfect cozy spot to hang out with friends for an afternoon. From sugar cookies, to macaroons, this shop has a decent variety of decadent sweets to choose from.

Yun Hyejeong, the baker and owner of the 5-year-old shop, is self-taught. I was impressed with her rich brownie a la mode. The coconut cream cake is a customer favorite, that goes well with the always simple yet loved Americano.

For today’s visit, I had the milk tea latte. Ask them for no sugar, as the drink is really sweet, and adding a slice of cake to it could be overwhelming.  The red velvet cupcake has an interesting minty frosting on it, not cream cheese, but it still gives it a good taste. Come to Blue Oven for lunch and have a taste of their paninis, sherbert, waffles and their variety of cakes and cookies.
