[Cafe/Press Article] Enjoy coffee surrounded by adorable kittens in Cat cafe.

Adorable cat cafe in Daegu

When you first move to Korea you want to experience everything this new country has to offer. One of the first things most people want to try (apart from the food) is the adorable concept that is dog and cat cafes. We have spoken about Daegu’s famous (an apptly named) Dog Cat Café before on this blog (you can find the articles here and here) but sometimes this popular spot can be over flowing with giggling teenagers and happy couples so it’s good to know that Daegu now has another cat café for you to go and drink a good coffee as well as be able to play with some adorable furry friends.

The 고양이 (or Go-yeoung-E) Café is situation right next to the stage in downtown Daegu. It is in the same building that houses The Body Shop and can be found on the top floor. It follows the same format as most cat café’s. When you enter you must change your shoes to some fancy looking slippers, purchase a drink for 7,000 won from the large collection of drinks available and this will entitle you to play with the kitties as long as your heart desires.

This cat café is slightly different to the other cafés in Daegu mainly because it has kittens. Currently there are 5 adorable bundles of excited joy running around the café, launching themselves at your drinks straws and wanting cuddles.

Cats in Cafe, Daegu

There are many breeds of cat’s here from Siamese to Persian and even a cat that looks suspiciously like grumpy cat himself.

The café is run by very friendly people who obviously adore the cats and the cats, although quite spoilt, love a cuddle. The one downside with this café is that treats are available for the cats. This may sound like a great thing, and the cats love it, but it does mean that the cats are used to treats. It is worth the few extra won because if you have food in your hands you will be surrounded by cats for the duration of your trip.

To get to the cafe, walk to the stage in downtown Daegu. If you are facing the stage you will need to take the road that slightly forks to the right. You will see a massive billboard advertising the café on the roof above the Body Shop. It’s the first building entrance with the photos of cats on the door. Walk to the top floor.
