Lotus Flowers Habitat in Ansim

Lotus flowers are in bloom currently in Banyawol district, the nation’s largest producer of lotus roots in Dong-gu, Daegu. Jeomsaeneup (wetland) within the lotus root complex is filled with wild red and pink lotus flowers.

Lotus is a perennial plant belongs to Nymphaeaceae, and originated from Egypt which is one of the most important ingenious products of Dong-gu.

Total area of lotus plantation reaches 142 ha covering the areas alongside the Geumho-river including Banyawol and Sinpyeong field, which takes 50% of all lotus production area nationwide and produces some 4,000 tons and contributes some 6 billion won of farmhouse income yearly.

The flower always looks so clean and pure against the background of the dirty pond.
