Preparing for the Rainy season!

That time of year is back, it's the rainy season. Here are 8 tips on how to make this rainy season a lot smoother and easier to handle :)

First: How long is the rainy season?
It starts at the end of June and lasts until mid July, and then is stops and them comes back for just a few days at the end of July. So remember your umbrella just in case.

Second: Protecting your home from water!
In you house, make sure all of the drains that could be effected by the rain is clear and free so the water can pass through. If you live in an apartment you should be find but for those who live in villas you don't want to come out one day to find your place is flooded, so be wary of this.

Third: Electrical Accidents!
It will be raining a lot and remember to close your windows when it is raining a lot, there has been cases of accidental electrocution because some water went in to a power socket. If you want to be 100% safe, take out the appliances that you don't when you aren't using them.

Fourth: Getting rid of the humidity in the air using candles.
You might not have known this but candles can evaporate the moisture in the air, so if you are home and it is feeling a bit sticky light a candle and get rid of the humidity. However because not to fall asleep with the candles on.

Fifth: Getting rid of humidity using newspaper.
Sometimes it gets a little wet in the closet and shoe cupboard, if you put news paper here and there, it will absorb the moisture and keep it nice and dry. Such an easy way to solve that problem with no need for expensive products.

Sixth: Keeping you kitchen clean.
Rainy season is when people get food poisoning the most, because everything being constantly wet, there is a higher chance of mold to grow. If possible try to dry the kitchen sink to keep it dry. Use baking soda and lemon juice to clean your cutting board and knifes. Buy some big grain sult and put it here and there with your dished, that should absorb the moisture.

Seventh: Doing your laundry right away and drying your laundry quickly.
When you do laundry, try to take hang it up as soon as you can, the longer you leave it in the washing machine it will cause your cloths to possible create mold and even leaving it in a basket after it has been washed could cause mold. When drying your laundry it is a good idea to use a fan or some sort of wind device to dry it quicker, otherwise it will take a long time to dry.

Eighth: Watch what you eat
Right now is the time when food spoils very quickly, so for this time, it might be wise to avoid raw food like sushi. Again around this time, it is the highest chance of getting food poisoning and other allergic reactions.

Remember to drink a lot of water, and make sure you always have an umbrella handy. I hope these tips help you with this years rainy season. Enjoy your summer and I will see you later :)
