Apsan Cable Car Extended Hours Way After Sunset

Daegu Citizen Press 2017

An Evening at Apsan
Take Advantage of Extended Operating Hours of Apsan Cable Car

As part of the ongoing Better Together in Daegu events, Min Hee recently participated in the Evening Trip to the Apsan Observatory. She was happy to take part because she had never seen the sun set from such a beautiful vantage point.
Together with the other members, we met up at the Art Factory Chengshung Hall. After attendance was taken we were handed our name badges and boarded the bus. We then took a short ride to Apsan Park. It was decided that in order to see the sun set we needed to take the cable car at Apsan, so we walked up the mountain to the cable car building and got our tickets.  After that we waited for our turn to take the cable car to the top and enjoy the view.

Once at the top we all headed to the Apsan Observatory. Min Hee was a little shocked that there were so many people up there. This is because recently the cable car hours of operation have been extended. The hours will change every month during autumn and winter because it will be darker earlier.

There were many couples and families who were enjoying the cooler temperatures. Before we left we really had to put on light jackets.
The view of the sun setting was amazing. High above the city the air was cool and peaceful.  There were so many people taking pictures it was a bit strange to hear all the shutter clicks as though they were the chirps of birds.

The event staff allowed all the members a lot of time to take it all in and get the sunset photos. Then it was time for a few group photos and all the while there was a professional photographer snapping images to record the event.
Min Hee enjoyed looking at the cars moving on some of the busier streets in our beautiful city. The colors of the lights and the zooming of cars were very cool to see from so high up in the night sky.

After mingling with the others in attendance and making some new friends it was time for another group shot under the white outline that is the Apsan Observatory. After that, we pulled out our small flashlights and made our way back to the cable car building.
While waiting for our turn we were delighted to see many more people were arriving to take in the night view of the city.

FA word of warning should be passed on. The walk to the Cable Car starting point is not always on sidewalks. There were a lot of cars driving to the cable car building. Please, be careful and attentive when making the short hike up and down.
