Preview 2018: 4 Must-check Expat Programs in Daegu



It’s time to get ready for all exciting adventure awaiting for you in 2018! To help you have the best experience ever in Daegu, we’ve rounded up programs that you should check out! Some programs are exclusively for expats and some are for everyone! Take your pencil out and get ready to take a note!


#1 Better Together


Better Together is a great opportunity to mingle with fellow expats living in Daegu as well as some local Koreans. The program is supposed to run in a very similar way as last year; 100 people will be chosen and program will include many cultural and social activities and tour Daegu’s popular attractions.

■ Eligibility: Expats living in Daegu and Daegu citizens
■ # of Acceptance: 100 people in 2017

#2 Daegu SNS Reporters


One of the best ways to explore Daegu is to serve as Daegu SNS Reporter. As you might have noticed, Colorful Daegu channel publish articles by admin and social reporters who deliver exciting things happening throughout Daegu. It runs yearly and recruitment for 2018 will come out at this very channel so stay tune!

■ # of Acceptance: 15 expats in 2017

#3 Daegu Travel SNS Reporters

Daegu City Hall runs separate channels for its Tour Department. A lot like Daegu SNS Reporters, Daegu Travel has its own SNS Reporters who share their valuable experience in Daegu. It focuses extensively on Tour and articles they are looking for are a bit different styles than Colorful Daegu’s. Both of them are fun, of course!

#4 Chimac Friends


If you can lead everyday conversation in Korean, you might want to consider serving as Chimac Friend at the infamous Daegu Chimac Festival. It is a volunteer opportunity where you can involve in the community and interact with locals!

■ Eligibility: Anyone above 19 who loves Chimac
■ # of Acceptance: 300 people
