Energy Day - Let the Lights Out for Just Five Minutes!

What is the Energy Day?
August 22, 2003 was the date the most electricity were consumed in Korean history. To remind the importance of energy and arouse public awareness of global warning, the Energy Day was established in 2004.
On the Energy Day, citizens are urged to turn off the air-conditioner, or at least to set the temperature high, between 2:00 and 3:00 during the daytime when energy consumption is highest in the day. People are also urged to turn off all lights just for five minutes starting 9 at night.

To commemorate the Energy Day, related events are held nationwide. Daegu also have prepared the event to remind the importance and urgency of energy saving and expecting citizens of Daegu to participate.
